Ignacio Carreño_
full-stack developer, systems engineer, professor
I am a senior full-stack developer and systems engineer with over 17 years of experience turning complex product needs into reliable, scalable web applications.
Over the years, I have grown from building and fixing features end to end into owning architecture, improving delivery pipelines, modernizing platforms, and supporting other engineers through technical guidance and team-oriented leadership. Alongside that work, I continue to cultivate my passion for teaching software engineering at UCC.
I bring deep experience with PHP, JavaScript, Node.js, Python, DevOps, QA automation, and cloud-adjacent workflows, while keeping the practical mindset I have always valued: fixing what is broken, adapting what needs to change, and choosing the simplest strong solution.
I believe that clear communication, timing, creativity, and ownership are the foundations for teams that consistently deliver outstanding work.

Tech stack:
A PHP/Yii service for managing lead-source configuration, form synchronization, integration credentials, field mappings, and submission rules. I contributed to its modular architecture and clean-code practices, including repository and context patterns, service-layer boundaries, factory-driven source handlers, dependency injection, API documentation, Elasticsearch integration, and a Codeception test suite. The engineering culture was reinforced through on-site training led by Robert C. Martin.
